Spinal Cord Warning Signs

  • New loss of bladder or bowel control

  • Numbness in the groin or inner thighs

  • Progressive weakness in both legs

Stroke Warning Signs — F.A.S.T.

  • Face drooping on one side

  • Arm weakness or numbness

  • Slurred or difficult Speech

  • Time to call 911 immediately

Blood Clot Warning Signs

  • Swelling, warmth, or redness in one leg

  • Pain that's worse standing or flexing the foot

  • Chest pain or shortness of breath — call 911

Signs of Infection or Serious Illness

  • Fever or chills along with your pain

  • Unexplained weight loss

  • Pain that's constant, worsens at night, or doesn't ease with rest

Heart Warning Signs (During Exercise)

  • Chest tightness, pressure, or pain, including pain radiating to the arm, jaw, or back

  • Shortness of breath out of proportion to the effort

  • Lightheadedness, fainting, or cold, clammy sweating

Neck-Related Warning Signs

  • Dizziness or unsteadiness with neck movement

  • Double vision, slurred speech, or trouble swallowing

  • Numbness or tingling around the mouth

After a Fall or Significant Trauma

  • Inability to put any weight on the area

  • Visible deformity, or intense, localized pain

  • Severe swelling or bruising right after the injury
